yep. As long as your transfer was international you got to bypass security and the security at the gate was due to being a flight to the US my guess but either way, we could have brought duty free liquids. I will say that airport despite being nice is too large. Thankfully we are fit but I know might in-laws would dread it as our connection was on the opposite end 😀
