Being on the other side of the pond for a while I would say that one of the biggest benefits is being able to use AA lounges in the US even when flying domestically - especially when access to their Flagship lounges.

Following that this week I’m great full for the extra baggage allowance too both in terms of bag count and weight as we move back to the U.K.
