At SYD they are separate airports. AKL (Air NZ) is better when flying USA to AU east coast & at times PER. Airside AKL transit then to many AU airports (not just SYD)
Agreed on AKL. Was trying to stick to options with ST. (SIN being the exception but having been discussed above)
