Is your AA goal related to Loyalty Points (status) or redeemable miles? If it's the latter, you should look into Bask Bank. Check out the AMEX forum for advice on your other question.

Thank you. For this initiative, the goal is purely to maximize AA points. I agree, the Amex Platinum would be best overall but from what I understand you cannot transfer membership rewards points to American.
...As an aside, I need to figure out the best way to maximize an American Express bonus, next year, after American Airlines goal achieved. I've been an Amex gold card holder for 30+ years, and need to figure out if there is an upgrade path, or I need to cancel gold outright to get something like a 100K bonus.
