I emailed all Hilton mail adresses i could find. So i have to wait. This behaviour is not okay. If i knew this BEFORE booking (as in US) it might be clear and okay. But with this without notice: we would have booked somewhere else.
There has been a few hotels in Canada that have applied the rule... as if Canada is part of the US. I had one stay at a HGI in Montreal where I clearly pointed out we're not in the US, and I got the snarky reply that they made that decision because "corporate had recently taken over the hotel". Next time I go to a Canadian hotel where the benefit is not applied, I do intend to lodge a formal complaint... that is unless Hilton modify their T&C to say North American, rather than US hotels...
