For the last 20 years I always bring wine and champagne with me in Thailand and Indonesia.
Usually I bring one half and one bottle, to match the custom allowance. If we travel in group we bring the total allowance.
Wine storage can be a disaster in Asia, price can be 3 time more in shop and 10 time more in restaurant, and to buy high end bottle not ready to drink, what is the point ?

At least my wine are ready to drink give me pleasure and we enjoy with friends, and I don't feel ripped off.
