Would I be able to go from T2 to T1? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

But for carryon you will just go through normal transit entry, they will verify your passport and your onward flight and dump you in to the international terminal. There will be no need to enter Japan as long as you are only bringing carryon bags. Assuming you can get from T2 to T1, the one piece I don't have experience with, but I'm sure someone else will answer up here to validate.
Unfortunately, ZipAir doesn’t allow airside check-in. So if your first leg is ZipAir, then might be ok. But if ZipAir is your second leg AND you’re departing from Japan, you may have some issues.
I had a similar issue with Scoot in Singapore even though I was hand carry only AND there’s a Scoot transit counter airside, since this transit counter will only airside check in FROM interlined airlines including separate tickets. Thankfully, I was able to go landside and check in at the main counters.
