Just because nothing happened does not mean that there was not an increased level of danger. If the aircraft was unreachable for ATC then obviously there was an increased risk for the aircraft, crew and passengers. Same applies to the obviously increased response time from the captain if something were to have happened.
It seems pretty clear that both pilots asleep in the cockpit raises risk levels by a significant degree,
But I'm only surprised the press release doesn't cite the heightened awareness of both pilots after they woke refreshed from their slumbers: that's the nature of these PR exercises.
