Recently stayed at HGI during Easter. Exceptional value for point redemption as everywhere else tried overcharged everyone for Easter staycation.
- Fully recognized diamond, upgraded to highest floor; breakfast + welcome points + snacks
- Breakfast was takaway from restaurant, to my surprise, very delicious. The holiday inn express has inferior breakfast offering.
- I'm extremely sensitive to noise, the wall is so thin that it seems I'm living with other guests....First night, a couple watching movie and laughing loudly; 2nd night, a family with children, the father teaching his girl to practice English; 3nd night, a lady complaining whatever to another lady. Also so many door slamming sound throughout the day; and housekeeping vacuum noise from next door early in the morning.
- Coin laundry is free to use; only charge for drying I suppose.
- 24hr supermarket nearby; many boutique cafe opened nearby; food offering is never an issue in Mongkok

HGI is cheaper than Holiday Inn Express Mongkok most of the time, and I think the room, mattress, bathroom and breakfast is much better here. The holiday inn next door has stinky smell, but it's extremely quiet at night even though my room is right next to the elevator.
