I am looking too for a MR.

I am living at YUL. it is not so great deal from YUL for 12,000 miles. However, just accross the nice border, at BTV, United fly you to HNL or BKK for a decent price. I never use United, neither US.

Here the deal I found:
BTV-Rome: 440$ USair
BTV-HNL: circa 600$ United
BTV-BKK: 900$ United
BTV-Madrid: 600$ USair
BTV-Singapore: 900$ United
(Price in US$...but x rate is good!)

Here is my questions:
Do I get 100% miles with United at any fare? and USair?
I am Elite, (* Gold). How that work for E+? Do I have to pay something more?
With USair, do I get an upgrade if I am *Gold?

If I do:
YUL-YVR-HNL with AC: Do I get half 50% miles and half 100% miles (US section) or 100% miles?
