I wish that were the case, then the lounges would be empty, flights would be cheap, and maybe even the call centre wouldn't be so busy.

But alas, their flights are very full, fares very expensive. My partner flying to SIN-KL next week. SQ fare $850SGD return. MH $250 return. Which is the "Avoid at all Costs" airline in Asia? CGK is very full, but the week after next you can take the 1:45 flight return for $1200 SGD, what a bargain!

Somehow I think most aren't avoiding the airline at all costs, in fact quite the opposite, which is perhaps why they have such problems (on the top of staff shortages endemic across Singapore and coming off billions of dollars of losses which has inevitably seen cost cutting). Lot of new cabin crew in training apparently, that could be good or bad too. Hopefully this half yearthe airline will be well and truly back in the black (it should be) and eventually may restore some of the "lost" things that gave it a strong reputation in the first place.
