Ok so based on what you’ve said and to ensure other readers don’t get confused, essentially you were on a BA service that was wet-leased (ie. Contracted out by BA to IB for them operate the flight on BA’s behalf). Essentially the catering and soft product would all be sourced and handed over by BA and the crew onboard would’ve all been from IB. The water and snack in economy is a BA product. IB when operating their own flights only give out water for free on short-haul economy and rest is buy on board or pre-order delivery.

Your experience of the masks seems very much like what IB have been like throughout the pandemic which is why one of the other comments here insinuating IB crew didn’t care and/or weren’t wearing them seems rather odd.
