Actually, it’s the production quality and his affected manner that put me off. It’s like a feature-length infomercial, delivered dryly and without any good cheer or humour. Definitely down to individual tastes, but clearly there are not many fans amongst this group of fairly frequent fliers.
The gamechanger is the hard product on a handful of aircraft, and doesn’t extend to the soft product. The catering isn’t any different from the normal F. Not sure where you got “EK sets the bar”, but it’s pretty well-known that EK catering in J or F isn’t amongst the best. But it’s hardly a “culinary disaster” (as I noted, I’ve had that meal and it’s passable). The main appeal with EK is that they offer more F seats than anyone else to more destinations, and it is a generally consistent product. Anyone flying EK F expecting more this and making money off of YouTube videos, well, I think that’s just clickbait.
