I flew out of BOG (for the first time) a couple of days ago and was very impressed by the (understated) quality of LATAM’s international terminal lounge offering, accessed by virtue of my IB ticket. The whole area was immaculate, with quality food & alcohol available on self-serve, albeit somewhat limited in range at my mid-afternoon visit.
If the BA bathroom facilities at GF in T5 are more akin to those which one might expect at a tired Premier Inn, then LATAM’s were close to those of a Mandarin Oriental.
Do BA actually have any plans within the next ten years or so to do anything about their toilets ……. ? or have they perhaps become totally immune to any lingering sense of shame …… ?? Wonder what LATAM regulars must think when they use BA loos !

On the key point of too many GCH’s = overcrowded lounges :
  1. I’d say there is maybe room for debate on the possibility of tightening / removing guesting privileges (certainly where flexibility re extended families is concerned) and
  2. Where my personal GCH status is concerned, I’ve always subscribed to Groucho’s theory and “don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.”
