Why do people feel the need to say they paid, as if that in some way elevates a trip over one were a business has paid. I haven't travelled on business for probably 5 years, but don't feel my somehow more valid.

I left LHR Tuesday morning at around 7AM, the FW had a small queue, maybe 3 couples, the AA desks were all free. At security all tray points were full with maybe 4 or 5 people waiting, all told I'd say I was through to the lounge in 5 minutes, and that included a random secondary, that feels pretty good to me. In the lounge it was quite full, but I able to find one of the small sofas near the terrace. As said upthread there was plenty of seats occupied by bags, or bags placed in such a way as to claim possession of unused seats. Drink came in 2 minutes and food in maybe 3-4 minutes. I was happy, but I deliberately used the toilet to change that. Honestly BA, those toilets are grim.

Too many GC holders, I've no idea, I'm pretty much someone who just about scrapes Gold through fitting in a few extra hops, rather a manufactured Gold. I guess right now BA are as uncertain of the future as any of us. They've extended people repeatedly, and numbers at the moment reflect that more than actual travel taken. The staffing issues have created such uncertainty for them, like many other airlines and airports. Brexit and Covid may have changed business travel going forward, and does premium leisure become a bigger focus for them, I'd say right now they're just winging it, and hoping that travel does bounce back in a long term meaningful way.

I'd guess the number of BA Gold Card Holders is low on the BA to do list.

EDIT: Apologies it was actually Wednesday morning not Tuesday.
