if bigotry is having devotion to one's own opinions and prejudices to anyone who has a different views, could it be suggested that you may guilty too in your comments towards people who just happen to hold a different point of view to you?

there have been some good points made on either side in the thread. i don't think it is clear there is one right answer here. to pretend there is, and to then claim everyone who doesn't agree with you is intolerant/bigot etc. seems to be a very poor way of trying to have a sensible discussion on this issue.
