No, im not part of AV/LM nor charging for that, just to help* look and see how far LM is displaying availability for his desired location (and a guesstimate of LM involved).

Yes it is. I did it many times. If you are short of miles, LM automatically offers you a miles+cash option.
Keep in mind when you're "buying" miles in this fashion, the trip may end up costing more due mile costs.
