I'm not sure how long your connection was in YYZ but last time I checked oversized items at the cutoff time, they didn't make the plane and weren't redirected until overnight. I'd guess it's probably hanging around the bowels of YYZ and will get retagged and forwarded on. Fingers crossed it'll be okay!
Thanks. My layover was strange because both the flight I arrived on from EWR and my flight departing were delayed by ~1 hour. It was roughly a 2 hour layover in the end, plus a last-minute gate change. YYZ was really hectic that night. I wonder if that played a role...
