The biggest thing is getting that Sky Priority checkin because my Medellin flight out of Miami is very early and I do not want to have to get up even earlier just because checkin MIGHT be long (but probably not at that hour).
Um...the SkyPriority access you get via your Skyteam (DL/KL) status will definitely not apply when you check in for your AA flight out of Miami. Especially since it sounds like it's not happening on the same day as your inbound DL flight.
