I get the confirmation email, showing my flight credit was used, the additional $11 was charged to my card, and all the right name/itinerary is present. Fast forward 4 days, I go to select my seat on the airline website, it cannot pull up the reservation. I contact the airline, they state the OTA has not completed the booking. I call the Chase, basically get a semi-run around of, 1) the flight had a schedule change (it did not), 2) the airline cancelled my ticket (airline stated it was never completed by OTA and in that case the airline should either refund or give alternative options for flight) plus no cancellation email was received, 3) I made a change to the ticket, again not true. After all said and done, I basically was charged the additional fare, which I find unfair because the OTA owned the ticket and probably never completed the booking, only for me to get put on the hook for their incompetence. Do I have any recourse, or consumer complaint?
Following up on this. The next day I called customer service to raise an incident request, the agent even commented, "wow you've been with us this many years and this is your first one?". Long story short, I described the above situation. I was given the fare difference back as a credit, and may have also been given an equivalent of UR points. So in the end the bare minimum was rectified with the fare difference given back, plus a bonus of UR points.
