^^^^ No I was just hooked on Amsterdam last year. Went 4 times roundtrip 1st class every time from SLC. Every flight was actually a Delta flight but I bought it through KLM because I thought in the next year I might move to Europe or at the very least fly around Europe a lot. But now that it looks like I am not moving there and that my finances can no longer support 1st class flights to Europe every other month I am now looking at more domestic and Latin American trips (the Delta flight to MIA is actually to grab an AA flight to Medellin in a couple weeks).
So I went into my Delta account, I removed my Sky Miles number from the reservation (took 1 click), I then popped in my Flying Blue number into the reservation, and presto, I immediately got Sky Priority, preferred seating, free baggage, complimentary upgrade to 1st class (possibly), and all the other perks of Sky Team Elite Plus. So I spent all that time and energy trying to figure out how something very simple works. Now in the future I know just to enter my Flying Blue number instead of Sky Miles. Also, the booking did not disappear from my Delta account. It is still there for me to manage and play with. If my miles go to my Flying Blue that is fine. If the miles go to my Delta account that is fine too. The biggest thing is getting that Sky Priority checkin because my Medellin flight out of Miami is very early and I do not want to have to get up even earlier just because checkin MIGHT be long (but probably not at that hour). With Priority checkin, my CLEAR and TSA PreCheck I should be able to get some extra sleep now.
