Hello all!

I come to you as a confused flyer. I applied for a United Mileage Plus credit card and was denied, twice (two different cards, the United Infinite Card and the United Quest Card). I'm thoroughly confused because 1) I have an very good credit score (750+) and 2) I make a very good salary (north of 150k)**. The reason(s) I was declined is 1) I don't have enough Chase accounts and/or 2) I don't have enough open credit cards. It's true I don't have any Chase accounts, I do my banking through other institutions and I have three open credit cards, this would have been number 4.

I called Chase and all they told me was #1 and #2 above, they were of no actual help. I don't really want to open a Chase account just to get this credit card and even then, I don't know what account to open or how long (or the amount) I'd have to fund to meet their unpublished requirements before reapplying.

**I hope this doesn't seem like a humble brag, that wasn't my intention. More laying the facts on the line to see what I can do different next time.

Any help or guidance that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.
