I have a 1-day stop in ADD on my way to TNR (Madagascar), and on my return to the US. I will be carrying binoculars and camera gear for birds etc. I heard yesterday from an Ethiopian tour operator that customs officers in ADD are not allowing binoculars into Ethiopia for "military reasons". Presumably cameras would also not be allowed? Anyone have experience with this or information about this?
