Both will function the same, since Rimowa has added the compression compartments to the classic. I would choose the one that is the most aesthetically pleasing to you. Although the classic may have a flimsier looking locking system, it is sturdy and hasn't failed. The handles are similar in my opinion, and shouldn't be a deciding factor.
You are paying for the aesthetics, and choose the one that speaks to you.
