NRT > LAX within the last month.

Not as great as it was before, but not as terrible as I'd been anticipating. Edible, not pretty. No pre-departure drink service, but did receive nuts and a drink about 30 mins in.

Dinner: Choices were beef tenderloin with rosemary sauce; white fish with cream sauce; soy ginger chicken stir fry. Through some extra politeness, I managed to end up with the beef despite it being "sold out." I did ask for a cheese plate or grain bowl from economy in lieu of the meal, but they were out of both.

Beef was not easy to cut, but was surprisingly palatable. The sauce was good. Salad was pathetic, and the brownie was not ideal. Not very generous with drink service, but I spent ~3hrs in the ANA lounge prior to departure and was plenty satisfied. Ate maybe 80% of this.

Breakfast: Cheese omelette with sausage, or; Japanese-style breakfast with salmon. First time out of Japan in 3 years, so I abandoned all desire to eat Japanese food the second the plane took off. But, nice to know it's being offered again. Normally, I'd have chosen it. Omelette tasted fine, but the entire meal was very similar to a dish I've regularly been offered on NRT routes in economy in the past.

Interested to see the meal on the reverse flight next month.
