We had initially bought a different itinerary but ended up with this itinerary due to an airline schedule change around December 2021. We agreed to it at the time, because a 2 hour connection seemed okay in December of 2021. Things have changed in air travel obviously, and now it looks like having more time would be beneficial.
Call using this. Don't bring up that you accepted the previous change. Just state you originally booked XYZ itinerary, there was a schedule change in December 2021 and the new flights you have don't work for you, and you want to see if there's something else you can change to that works better. Agents have a lot of latitude with schedule changes as long as it still fits in the original fare rules and there are seats available (which of course is a gamble this summer as things are FULL). Feed them the specific flights you want and have them go to try and book it. If they do that process and try to tell you there is an add-collect, remind them this was a schedule change and their originally proposed rebooking doesn't work for you.
