There was quite a lot of turbulence and the seatbelt sign was on but nobody stopped the kid. This continued during the approach and even during the taxi to the gate. This was of course mainly the fault of lousy parents but the crew didn’t do nothing either even though the child could have been injured especially during the turbulence. I wrote to Customer Care to point out how the crew was absolutely passive and the response was so shocking. They didn’t even bother to read what I wrote, just replied that the crew could have handled it better.
Will avoid SQ in future.
Having seen countless examples of useless Singaporean parents, I'm not sure I even agree with the response that the crew could have handled it better. If these were indeed the kind of people who should have used contraceptives, then the most likely response to any attempt by the cabin crew to warn/admonish the parents/kids would have resulted in a literally and figuratively sky-high commotion. If the child did get injured during turbulence, the parents will not find it that easy to blame SQ. If it really gets on your nerves, you can walk over and tell the lousy parents off yourself - what's the point of expecting cabin crew to do it or even writing in after the event? I've done it before to lousy parents at supposedly fine dining establishments - if they are not happy, they can call the cops to complain that someone is scolding them for being bad parents (or in your case, after they touch down).
