With QF having announced their new "enhancements" yesterday

we are doing serious homework on switching to CX as our primary FF program.
Apologies in advance: I have done a search using several keywords variations this afternoon, but can't find what I think I've read here previously.
DrD is currently QF Platinum, so OW Emerald. Incidentally, already receives *very* good recognition from CX due to OWE only in terms of op-ups, etc. He's also about to make QF Lifetime Gold, so Lifetime OW Sapphire. But it's the Emerald status he wishes to retain, naturally.
So that would entail switching his mileage accrual all from QF to CX starting at the beginning of his next CX "membership period", and would need to achieve a one-year run from Green to Diamond in order to retain OWE benefits when his QF Plat timed out the following year.
When I look at the qualification requirements for CX Diamond, 120,000 club miles or 80 sectors, I assume that to mean if he surpasses either of those levels individually in one year, he will have attained Diamond.
But I seem to recall people talking here about being "reset" after reaching Silver, and then Gold, and someone explaining that yes, to go from Green to Diamond in one year, you ned 30,000 + 60,000 + 120,000 club miles (i.e. Green-to-Silver + Silver-to-Gold + Gold-to-Diamond requirement) = 210,000 in one year?
Is that correct? Does that apply to sectors as well?
Again , apologies if this has been dealt with often, I did look, but can't find. Anyhow, I hear the rumbles on the QF board that a few people are thinking the same thing about jumping ship - I'm sure this isn't just my question!
