Banked hubs do not save AA money, they actually require more staff and gates than rolling hub.
Customers (maybe non-FT members) have repeatedly shown a preference for shorter total travel times and maximum overall connectivity - both of which are provided by banked hubs.
No bank hubs save airlines money because they get more a/c utilization and a/c sitting on the ground don't make money. Why would any airline have banks of flights if it didn't save money even with higher staff and other costs. Pre merger AA had rolling flights but Parker rebanked flights.
