On May 3 I found 2 award seats in F and 2 in business from ZRH to DOH at 1640 and 4 seats in F on the 0100 and the 1840 from DOH to DXB. Both each 4 seats.
So I simultaneously confirmed 2 award tix on the QR website and 2 via AA over the phone, C/F award with QR, F/F with AA. Same flights. AA had an issue with the 0100 so we all got booked with the DOH layover on the 1840. This is mid Ocotber.
We are a family with 2 adults and 2 kids, 14 and 8 years old.
Here is what happened: A day after confirming, the AA ticket no longer showed on thr AA app. Just vanished. AA website said booking cancelled. I called AA, they said that it's strange but QR cancelled all flights out. The F availability was back ZRH to DOH, but not on the 1840 DOH DXB. SonAA got ZRH DOH back but not the 1840. That was zeroed out. So they issues the 0100 in the same PNR on a new ticket and we were split up from there on out. They tried via liason desk and got nowhere. I called QR and got a QR supervisor indirectly to look at it, but he didn't take my call. They said it was a mistake. He sent an email to HQ and got back the information that it was an agent error, indeed the flight shouldn't have been cancelled and appropriate action against the agent was taken. But nobody approves to open up the inventory for AA and also not for the QR booking and we would stay on separate flights but I could email the tellus address.l to complain.
We won't split up, my wife is not well enough. Any advice?
