Fly this route frequently and have this dilemma quite often. DFW-HNL and DFW-OGG wide body flights are full mostly in J for the next couple of months. It starts opening back up in August. On our recent return, we opted for HNL-PHX on a A321neo as we had 10 open seats in F and we were upgraded. All of the wide body planes out of DFW were full in J. Earlier in the year, it was easy upgrades in J on wide bodies out of DFW but not currently. 787 out of PHX is seasonal.
