Got 4 of these emails in my inbox a few days back for my son. I would have never expected this and certainly didn't request anything, but I guess its a nice service gesture. Oddly, there was no code at the bottom of the email. I'll have to dig up my son's mileage plan number to see if anything was deposited.
Dear Adam,
We recognize that air travel during the pandemic has been unsettling for guests and that it has been particularly challenging for guests with medical conditions, who are unable to wear masks, and their traveling companions.
We wanted to share that the federal mask mandate is has expired.
Effective immediately, you will no longer need a medical exemption to fly without a mask. In accordance with the federal mask mandate, guests traveling on Alaska Airlines will no longer be required to wear a face mask or face covering in the airport or onboard our flights. Due to Canadian regulations, masks will still be required on flights to and from Canada. Additionally,
masks must still be worn in airports within Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico.
We’ll continue to track any changes to federal requirements, and keep you appraised via our blog: news.alaskaair.com and alaskaair.com.
We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.
To make it up to you, we've included a discount code at the bottom of this email for future travel on Alaska. To use the code, go to
alaskaair.com/planbook and enter it into the discount code field on the right side of the booking form.
Your discount is valid for ticketing for one year and is good for travel between any of the +115 destinations operated by Alaska Airlines. This discount is limited to a single reservation and only one discount code can be used per reservation. Complete discount code rules and restrictions can be found
online at
alaskaair.com.
As always, thank you for flying with us. We look forward to welcoming you on a future Alaska flight.
Sincerely,
Wayne Newton
