If they get their house straight and are ever allowed to fly into the US again, I'd say it's a decent offering for a traveller with no status with a 7+ trips to Thailand for the next 18 months.
Yep, probably best suited for those living in Thailand, or nearby. When living in Bangkok, with active work/leisure travel activities I would have been tempted by this offer. These days, and especially noting THAI's precarious financial position, not interested.
