HILTON

PROS:
No restrictions on credit cards you can use
More hotel properties nationwide.
More brands to choose from.
CONS:
You can only earn 3 free nights regardless of your number of stays
You have to stay 7 times just to earn the 3 free nights, so more stays are required.
Only stays booked at Hilton are considered stays. No expedia, priceline, etc.
Free nights expire March 15.

HYATT:

PROS:
Unlimited number of free nights as opposed to Hilton's max of 3.
1800checkin makes stays easier to obtain
Hyatt customer service makes it easier to claim "lost" or unposted points.
Only 6 stays are required to get 3 nights as opposed to 7 with the Hilton promotion.
Free nights run through April.
CONS:
You can only use your MasterCard, which can be restrictive for some people
There are fewer properties to choose from.
Stays can only be made at Hyatt. There's no alternate brands like Hilton's 7 or 8.

In looking at the pros and cons of each, I still think Hyatt wins hands down.
I was not comparing the two. I just was informing those of this development. As a refugee from Hilton, you will not find me singing their praises. By the way, the expiration of their free nights is is March 15,2006, mind you!
