They were giving people take home kits that would be picked up by Purolater - a Canadian version of FedEx or UPS. No idea if that is still happening, but there was a massive backlog in processing the take home and airport tests, which pissed a lot of people off as they were technically supposed to quarantine awaiting results. Those requirements were dropped a while ago for vaccinated travelers, so IDK if the take home kits are still at the land border.
