Booking an award ticket generally requires patience and flexibility. My best advice to you is - DO NOT TRANSFER your AmEx MR points until you find award availability. Point transfer to LM is instantaneous. Finde availability first and then transfer miles.

Yes it is. I did it many times. If you are short of miles, LM automatically offers you a miles+cash option.
