furthermore, one of the agents on the phone told me changes are usually made without informing the customer instantly, and the communication is only done closer to departure (as to not have to inform repetitively about changes to the same flight).
wether that's desirable or not is up for debate, I'd rather know right away so I can change my plans or have time to make alternative arrangements, rather than be surprised hours or days before the trip.

Normal pax will only be unnecessary confused. My LAX-AMS flight has had 3 schedule changes and an equipment change as well. Funnily enough we are back at the original scheduled departure time. So much ado about nothing. Normal pax would panic right away.
