At least you're self-aware.

They (presumably) booked a legal connection which AA sold them, and the flight was delayed through no fault of their own. They were at risk of missing their only connecting option to DUB, and rather than stay seated for 3 extra minutes, you determined you were better than them, and delayed them further, if even by moments.

Whatever happened to simply helping out your fellow men and women without having to justify it?
