I have very little confidence. Thus far in this series:
- Game 1: Flames utterly dominated, but a combination of terrible goaltending, defensive miscues, and moments of individual skill from Edmonton's stars made it a game
- Game 2: Flames were comfortably in control up 3-1, but a combination of terrible goaltending, defensive miscues, and moments of individual skill from Edmonton's stars got Edmonton the win
- Game 3: Flames didn't show up, bad goaltending, defensive miscues, and moments of individual skill from Edmonton's stars gave Edmonton a very comfortable win
- Game 4: Flames didn't show up, defensive miscues, moments of individual skill from Edmonton's stars, and not terrific goaltending gave Edmonton a 3-0 lead
Notice any themes? Throughout, the Flames have taken dumb penalties, either in locations where the Edmonton players were nowhere near being a threat, or in stupid battles after the whistle; the latter haven't led to that many Edmonton PPs, but have kept some of the Flames' important players in the box and disrupted their ability to play 5-on-5 and roll 4 lines.
Yeah, they've clawed back a couple of goals, but they still don't look like a team with much hope of winning this game, let alone the series. They only had 7 SOG in that period.
