Can’t remember where but I read in an article that airlines have so many vouchers out there that were set to expire this year so they can charge whatever fares they want because people will use their vouchers so they don’t lose them.
It wouldn't surprise me if there's some truth in that. I've already used three this year and still have three left to use by December.
