Hi All:
A friend and I are heading to Hawaii for 9 days (including travel days) end of March - early April and I'm looking for some basic suggestions on which islands to pick from given the criteria below. This is our second trip.
Last time we spent the entire time in Oahu, and we do want to spend the last 3 days of the trip there again this time around. However, for the first 6 days we'd like to work in a new island or two and wanted to get ideas of where to go.
Our interests generally revolve around sightseeing and things on land. Driving around, taking in the scenery, any significant attractions (volcanoes, Dole plantation, waterfalls, etc.), outdoor activities like horseback riding or relaxing on a quiet beach. Drop the top in the convertible and just tour the state. Water-based activities (swimming, snorkeling, boating, etc) aren't high on the list - in fact, don't even bother suggesting any that involve swimming as I can't swim.
In terms of flights and hotels - just assume we can take care of getting anywhere via United or Aloha and that we'd prefer to stay in Starwood resorts since I'll be a *wood platinum member by then. Hotel cost isn't a huge factor - 4 star or better is ideal.
Thanks!
