The private islands are another category, since there's nothing else around. But in London or Florence, there are more than a few sights to explore, innit?
Perhaps a separate category for "luxury hotel is itself a destination" is warranted?
There should definitely be (at least in my head there is) a distinction between hard product, soft product and "as a destination/resort/activities"(which is arguably a mix of hard & soft) type of luxury. Sometimes I want all 3, sometimes I only want one of them.
