Valid point. I do believe they are waiting for the annual fee to be paid before issuing the certificate. IMO that’s one of the reasons for 8-12 weeks. I remember reading in the ritz thread how folks were getting their annual goodies, using them and cancelling the card. The rats would not stand for that.
FYI, my anniversary was 3/3.
Once I got my free night, the email said here’s the free night, thanks for renewing the card.
