Flew 1D over the weekend (was in 7D and last minute switched to 1D because no one was booked in 1G.

Was a nice direct comparison because I flew on the 763 in Polaris on the way over to Europe.

Shocked to say that I thought UA was leaps and bounds better than LH. From prior F experiences on LH, I thought the food was going to be much better but it was only slightly better than UA which is not high praise because the UA food was awful. I also had better service on the UA flight, the FA on my aisle was very friendly and constantly doing drink runs throughout the meal.

On the flip side, I definitely got a robotic German FA on my LH flight. She got frustrated with me ordering the chicken off the menu because apparently they had only loaded beef -- except the menu literally says chicken (same one reported in the LH food threads) so how exactly was I supposed to know that the catering had changed and why is it my fault that I asked for chicken but the main is now beef?

She also was very slow on drink refills -- meanwhile I could see the FA on the other aisle was offering multiple pieces of bread and making multiple runs of drinks so I have to attribute part of it to the FA in my aisle.

In terms of the hard product -- I thought the Polaris hard product was just better situated for a solo traveler (even though I had the row to myself). The seat was more comfortable and the screen was crisper and easier to interact with (the LH screen was lagging and had poor resolution).

WiFi was also rather poor (same with UA) -- which was unfortunate since I got an email about 2.5 hours out that my UA connection was canceled and I was unable to work on rebooking until I landed by which point everything was gone.

I would definitely fly LH on the A359 again over Y or PE that's not a serious question, but I'm surprised to say that I would actually take Polaris over LH J if presented with the option.
