On united.com, click into your reservation and under the “cancel options” button there is a rather small “envelope” that allows you to email the reservation. It doesn’t include pricing information but does include your confirmation number. I’m pretty sure that a last name and confirmation number can get you nearly everything you need, so would be cautious about who gets their hands on it.
You can also use this to email yourself and delete the confirmation number before forwarding…
This is what I typically do, plus it then comes from me instead of a United mailbox.
I do wish there was a way to print a concise itinerary (single page) instead of the bloated print option that United gives. I always like to have a paper backup to phone use, especially for Intl trips.
