I don't know. Judging from the renders, the new resort would have about the same footprint as the Ziva North tower and quite an elevation from the sea level. That piece of land is just too small.
Another contender is the hill south of Hilton Vallarta Riviera, on the beach side. But that's more unlikely.
Yeah it does look small on the satellite view. I'm not sure if they'd be able to acquire whatever is next door (to the northwest). I checked the street view but all you can really see is the trees.
