I'm not sure what you mean by everything as full with two seats unavailable. If it's full, wouldn't all seats be unavailable?

The seat map doesn't always reflect the extent to which the cabin is booked. The aircraft flying the route could still change (admittedly not super likely but possible). DL could also downgrade passengers from J at DL's expense or move them to different flights if they've overbooked J. Bottom line, if you have a D1 ticket on this flight and you want to be sitting in D1, there's a 99.9% chance you're going to be sitting in D1.
