That may be but this is literally what is stated on UA.com -- even if that's not how it is applied the straight text interpretation of this is that as a Platinum on a B fare, I am eligible to be upgraded from the time of ticketing up until the upgrade window if specific availability is in place (e.g., PZ>0)

  • Can I get my Complimentary Premier Upgrade any earlier?

    Yes. If you are a Premier member traveling on full-fare economy Y- and B-class fare within an eligible region, you may be eligible for instant upgrades as early as time of ticketing subject to upgrade availability. Premier 1KŪ members are also eligible for instant upgrades when purchasing M-class fares.
