A while back (Nov, Dec, Jan), some folks on PremEcon tickets were told their "B" fare class on domestic connecting segments were actually a non-B fare basis and not eligible for Instant Upgrade (for a CPU eligible flight). There was no clear way of telling when this was happening. Unclear if this is still happening but may have been related to some form of discount PremPlus that was not a O,A, or R fare basis.
This only mattered to 1Ks

None cleared ahead of time with an instant upgrade but 3/4 ended up clearing at the gate (RDU - EWR, IAD - RDU x2) and one ended up as #1 on the upgrade list (RDU - IAD which is fine since it’s maybe a 35 minute flight)
As a Plat you would not be waitlist or prioritized for Instant Upgrade. Just standard CPU
