Final day here after arriving on Friday and enjoying some pretty decent 30c afternoons exploring the lake.

Landing just after 9am I wandered round Geneva before catching a train to Annemasse on the French border and jumping on another train to Evian. Was a pretty easy trip and cheaper than going via Lausanne although that didn't factor in what a taxi might cost from the train station to the hotel as I walked.

The hotel is located to the Eastern end of the town by the lake side and a few minutes from both the shops as well as the boat pier. The boat connects to Lausanne and from there you can go all over the lake.

I had bagged myself a king room with balcony facing the lake on the app with no pro active upgrade offered. Was keen to get it as the other rooms were facing away from the lake. On arrival I asked if there were any gold upgrade rooms available and was offered a king deluxe with spa access. It took a lot of tapping. Eventually I got the room right next door to where was booked on the app.

Apparently the deluxe refers to the view more than anything according to previous reviews on here.

The room itself had a view, although slightly blocked by tree line, of the lake and featured two big bottles of Evian and a tatty looking carpet as well as marked walls. The room I had was north facing and with the high trees even on the third floor there isn't really any sun hitting it.

There is both an indoor and outdoor pool as well as lots of seating outside in the bar area as well as pool side.

Breakfast was served downstairs and was organised on both mornings by one lady. Everything is self service but you can order Omlette, although this was only mentioned on a menu and not offered. As well as the lady there is a bird that was at breakfast both days picking away at the breads and cakes. This bird is a blue tit or something of that size and loved a savoury snack. On the first day the bird flew off as I approached the chocolate muffins and on day two was pecking at the breads.

The staff member waved the bird off and covered the cakes up with a towel. Didnt fancy eating any of them after that but in fairness the raspberry cake and brioche did look good.

Cost for this two night stay was 298eur. You are paying for location.

Housekeeping did make bed and replenish toiletries after night 1.
